Words by Matias Stridsland:

The Beachcomber is my dream 26+ modern retro MTB; essentially the frame that matches the Barnacle fork. An All Terrain Bike if you will. Or as I like to call it, an MTBMX, as it’s basically an effort to merge a BMX and MTB into something functional. Its geometry is scientifically proven to enhance fun and adventure with the use of short-rear-end technology, an accommodatingly spacious front triangle, and tremendous tire clearance (26 x 2.8″). It also sports an abundance of cage mounts, adjustable dropouts, and stealth dropper routing, utilizing only the most standardized of standards, such as a straight head tube, threaded bottom bracket, IS disc mounts and external cable routing.

– 12×142 rear spacing (non-boost) (135 QR inserts available)
– 15×100 front spacing (non-boost)
– 73mm bb shell BSA thread
– Max 38t chainring at 49mm chainline
– 1-1/8″ headtube for EC34 headsets
– 27.2mm seatpost post and 30.0mm seatclamp (steel frame)
– IS disc mounts front and rear
– Recommend 180 rotors but compatible with 160-203mm
– 4130 cro-mo, double butted front triangle, stainless steel dropouts
– Stainless M5 and M8 hardware
– Includes a Barnacle Lite fork + front and rear axles.
– Aprox 4,5kg – Large frame, fork (full length 300mm steerer), inserts, axles, hardware
– Headset not included

Wheel / Tire size

26 x 2.8″ – The essence of the Beachcomber lies within its 26+ platform. The geometry and clearances are optimized for this combination, as well as the way it’s intended to ride.

Also works great with 26 x 2.3″ tires, or up to 27.5 x 2.6″ at maximum.

Here’s a size guide to use as a general reference point.

S (50): 165-175cm (5’5″-5’9″)
M (54): 175-185cm (5’9″-6’1″)
L (58): 185-195cm (6’1″-6’5″)
