Embarking on a gravel bike tour into the eastern outskirts of Munich, you’ll find yourself on an exciting journey that loops in the shape of an 8.
This unique route allows riders to explore a mix of urban path and forest trails, providing a varied and engaging ride. Starting from central Munich, you can head eastward towards Grasbrunn, where the well-maintained paths are perfect for warming up.
As you continue your ride, the route takes you deeper into the eastern suburbs, where the landscape shifts to charming villages and agricultural fields.
The final stretch of the tour brings you back towards Munich, passing through the Perlacher Forest, a large woodland area that feels almost untouched by the nearby city. The forest trails, rich with the scent of pine and the sounds of nature, offer a perfect gravel cycling experience, where the soft ground under your tires and the cool shade of the trees create a refreshing end to the ride.
Completing the “8”-shaped tour, you’ll feel both invigorated and connected with the diverse landscapes that the eastern part of Munich has to offer.
If the full 8 seems too much for a day, you can easily cut it short and simply do just one circle instead of two.
