5 Lakes Tour

A gravel bike tour southwest of Munich offers an exhilarating ride through some of Bavaria’s most picturesque landscapes, taking you on a journey through four stunning lakes. Starting from Munich, you pedal out of the city and soon reach the tranquil shores of Wörthsee, a smaller, serene lake known for its crystal-clear waters and peaceful surroundings.
From Wörthsee, the route guides you toward the larger Ammersee, one of the region’s most beloved lakes. Here, the gravel trails take you along the lakeside, offering breathtaking views of the water, framed by the distant Alps. The tour continues to Pilsensee, a smaller, quieter lake that offers a more intimate experience. The surrounding trails wind through charming Bavarian villages and lush forests, providing a perfect mix of nature and culture.
As you head towards the final lake, Starnberger See, which have long been a retreat for Munich’s residents. Leaving Starnberger See, you ride through the Forstenrieder Park, a vast forested area that provides a cool, shaded route back towards Munich. If you are lucky, you will see wild boars.
The final leg of the journey takes you along the Isar River, where the well-maintained gravel paths bring you back to the city, completing a loop that has taken you through some of the most beautiful and diverse landscapes the region has to offer.
Bring your swimsuit and a small towel to cool your jets.
