VAN STEM, the BLUE LUG exclusive duralumin ATB stem. BLUE LUG revived the duralumin ATB stem which used to exist for the current bikes. The original one was designed in 1971 and called "MX-2".
The following is written by Tani from Kamiuma store, who designed VAN STEM.
"Box-shaped, short-length and top-loading. It has an iconic cute design. PAUL has a stem called "boxcar", so we call this stem "van" like Japanese commercial vehicle. We made it 60mm long and made it different from the original. (PAUL doesn't have 60mm.) Clamp diameter is 25.4mm which is rare for this kind of short stems."
With handlebar shims, you can use it with 22.2mm bars.
It clamps a bar nice and tight, so it's great for wide riser bars and swept-back bars. Suitable for hard riding.
