Words by Matias Stridsland:
Looking for a bike to fill that unexplainable gap in your stable? You probably don’t need another gravel bike. Honestly, you don’t need a Boom Boat either.. However, they say the day we stop playing is the day we start dying. So technically, the Boom Boat might just be a life-support system.. you know, in case you were looking for some justification.
The Boom Boat is my take on a commuter BMX: Ride it to the train, to the grocery store, to the skatepark, or through a mid-life crisis (and maybe even solve one). Perfect for retired BMXers, or those who never became one! Anyone looking for small wheels and big smiles, really.
I’ve designed the Boom Boat around the ridiculous and wonderful 20+ platform (20 x 2.8″). It’s a tiny, plush, jib-happy wheelsize that gracefully straddles practicality and playfulness. Oh yeah, did I mention they’re super strong!
Low center of gravity: Perfect for racks, baskets, or anything else you want to haul.
Short overall length: Nimble enough for trains, buses, elevators, and apartments.
Massive tire clearance: Grip, float, and soak up bumps. Quick to spin up, easy to accelerate, very fun.
Drive train options: Versatile stainless steel rocker dropouts for gears or single-speed (or fixed!)
Whether you want a minimalist singlespeed build, a practical basket bike, or just something to bounce around skateparks and alleyways, the Boom Boat is ready to mash. It’s a little workhorse, a city toy, a light tourer, and a grin machine. Basically, the most fun bike I could think of.

Between sizes?
– Choose the smaller size if you want more fun, aggressive handling, and more dropper post to play with.
– Choose the bigger size if you want a little more room for bags, racks, and sweepy bars.
Is this a BMX?
Although the Boom Boat is tough as nails, it’s not made for dedicated BMX use/abuse. It spans the gap between a daily commuter and a playful jib bike.
