The Beachcomber is my dream 26+ modern retro MTB; essentially the frame that matches the Barnacle fork. An All Terrain Bike if you must. Or as I like to call it, an MTBMX, as it’s basically an effort to merge a BMX and MTB into something functional. Its geometry is scientifically proven to enhance fun and adventure with the use of short-rear-end technology, an accommodatingly spacious front triangle, and yuge tire clearance (26 x 2.8″). It also sports an abundance of cage mounts, adjustable dropouts, and stealth dropper routing, utilizing only the most standardized standards such as a straight 1-1/8″ head tube, BSA threaded bottom bracket, IS disc brake mounts and external cable routing.
If you’d like a look at how the Beachcomber came to life, unpack the influences, riding philosophy and design decisions behind this playful, old-school-inspired, modern 26″ bike, click the link below.

Wheel / Tire size
26 x 2.8″ – The essence of the Beachcomber lies within its 26+ platform. The geometry and clearances are optimized for this combination, as well as the way it’s intended to ride.
Also works great with 26 x 2.3″ tires, or up to 27.5 x 2.5″ at maximum.
Geometry
Here’s a size guide for general reference.
S (50): 165-175cm (5’5″-5’9″)
M (54): 175-185cm (5’9″-6’1″)
L (58): 185-195cm (6’1″-6’5″)
If you’re in between sizes, I’d generally suggest the following:
Choose the smaller size if you’re looking for a more fun and aggressive build with more room for a dropper and riser bars.
- Go for the bigger size if you want something with more framebag capacity and maybe some sweepy bars.
