With FLIPSIDE, Too Tired Cycles introduces its first original product: a modern narrow-wide chainring designed for classic 94 and 110 BCD five-arm cranks. Built for riders who want to modernize older bikes without losing their original character.
FLIPSIDE was born out of a simple problem familiar to many riders of older steel bikes: while high-quality cranks from the 1980s and 1990s are still technically and aesthetically relevant, compatible solutions for modern 1x drivetrains — especially for classic fivearm standards — have become increasingly rare.
The chainring was specifically developed to convert older 2x and 3x setups with BCD 94 or 110 into modern 1x drivetrains with minimal compromise. Its narrow-wide tooth profile provides reliable chain retention and is compatible with all major 7–12
speed systems. It is - of course - also fully compatible with singlespeed setups.
FLIPSIDE is CNC-machined from high-strength 7075-T6 aluminum and hard anodized for increased surface hardness and wear resistance. The warm copper-brown finish emerges naturally from the anodizing process, drawing from the quiet confidence of classic Suntour and Syncros components rather than chasing nostalgia. One of FLIPSIDE’s defining features is its dual-sided design: each side features a different visual layout and can be mounted in either direction. An integrated offset allows riders to fine-tune chainline by ±1.5 mm simply by flipping the chainring.
